No-exam life insurance

What applicants get fast approval, how the process operates, and what happens if you don't fit the criteria.

A number of carriers provide expedited underwriting for applicants meeting their age and coverage caps: the carrier decides based on your application, prescription records, driving history and other information, bypassing the medical exam. Some approvals arrive within a day. Every quote here tells you what exam situation applies.

What it changes

No exam doesn't mean no underwriting scrutiny. Your statements are checked, and any policy based on false information can be challenged within the first two years. If the carrier's investigation creates concern, they may still request an exam or lab results; that choice is yours.

Who tends to qualify

Generally, applicants under around 60 seeking coverage within the carrier's expedited threshold, free of serious health conditions and no nicotine in the past year or longer, qualify. Some carriers will use recent lab work from a doctor's appointment in place of their exam.

When an exam is required, expect a 20–30 minute session at your place in the Burbank area, done by a medical professional, at zero cost to you. For healthy applicants, exam results frequently mean a better rate; it's not inevitably negative.
